Assistant Headteacher - KS2 - BrentAssistant Headteacher - Primary SchoolBrent, North West LondonFull-Time | September StartQTS & Strong KS2 Experience EssentialSANZA Teaching Agency is working with a welcoming and ambitious primary school in Brent to recruit an experienced and inspirational Assistant Headteacher for September.This is an exciting opportunity for an outstanding primary practitioner and experienced leader to join the school's Senior Leadership Team, with a particular responsibility for driving standards and supporting teaching and learning across Key Stage 2.The Headteacher is specifically looking for someone with substantial and successful KS2 experience. You must have an excellent understanding of teaching and learning across Years 3-6, the KS2 National Curriculum, assessment and pupil progress.Applications are welcomed from existing Assistant Headteachers, as well as highly successful KS2 Phase Leaders, Year Group Leaders or experienced middle leaders who are ready to progress into senior leadership.The RoleWorking closely with the Headteacher and SLT, you will play an important role in the strategic and day-to-day leadership of the school.Key responsibilities will include:Providing strong and visible leadership across KS2Driving consistently high standards of teaching and learningMonitoring attainment and pupil progress across Years 3-6Supporting and developing teachers through coaching, mentoring and constructive feedbackMonitoring teaching through learning walks, observations, book scrutiny and pupil voiceSupporting the continued development of the KS2 curriculumEnsuring high standards in reading, writing and mathematicsLeading and contributing to pupil progress meetingsIdentifying areas for improvement and implementing effective strategiesDeveloping the effectiveness of middle and subject leadersLeading staff meetings and professional developmentSupporting behaviour, inclusion and pastoral provisionContributing to the School Development Plan and wider school improvementSupporting preparations for external review and inspectionPromoting a strong culture of safeguarding throughout the schoolThe successful candidate will be a visible, approachable and hands-on leader who remains closely connected to classroom practice.The Successful CandidateTo be considered for this Assistant Headteacher position, you will need:Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)Substantial KS2 teaching experience - essentialA strong track record as an excellent classroom practitionerSuccessful leadership experience within a primary schoolExcellent knowledge of the KS2 National CurriculumStrong understanding of KS2 assessment and pupil progressExperience improving teaching and learningExperience coaching and developing other teachersStrong curriculum knowledgeHigh expectations for behaviour and achievementExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsConfidence supporting and challenging colleaguesA collaborative and positive approach to leadershipStrong knowledge of safeguarding and inclusionStrong KS2 Experience Is EssentialFor this particular appointment, the school requires someone with a genuine depth of KS2 experience.You should understand the expectations across Years 3-6, including curriculum progression, assessment, pupil outcomes and preparing children successfully for the transition to secondary school.Candidates whose experience has predominantly been within EYFS or KS1 without significant KS2 experience are unlikely to be suitable.Who Should Apply?This could be an excellent next step for:An existing Assistant Headteacher looking for a new challengeA successful KS2 Phase LeaderAn experienced Upper KS2/Year 6 LeaderA strong English or Maths Leader with significant KS2 experienceAn ambitious primary middle leader ready to progress into SLTPrevious Assistant Headteacher experience is desirable but not essential if you can demonstrate strong leadership impact and are ready for senior leadership.Apply TodayIf you are an experienced KS2 teacher and primary leader looking for your next leadership opportunity in Brent, we would love to hear from you.Please apply with your up-to-date CV or contact Paige at SANZA Teaching Agency for further information and a confidential discussion.Assistant Headteacher | Primary Leadership | KS2 | Phase Leader | Senior Leadership | Primary Teacher | Brent | North West London | September Start
