Charles Stamper Fruit & Vegetable Wholesale is looking for a reliable and enthusiastic Incoming Goods Driver / Warehouse Operative to join our team. We are a family-run business delivering fresh produce to catering establishments throughout Scotland. You don't need previous experience to join us — we're looking for someone with a positive attitude, good work ethic and a friendly approach who enjoys being busy and on the go.
We are passionate about providing first-class customer service and maintaining high standards throughout our warehouse, and we're looking for someone who shares this commitment.
The Role
The role involves a combination of driving, goods-in and warehouse duties, including:
Collecting, transporting and safely offloading incoming goods.
Checking and booking in deliveries accurately.
Carrying out thorough checks on incoming stock for quantity, accuracy, quality and condition.
Picking items for immediate despatch.
Efficiently storing stock in the correct locations.
Maintaining good stock rotation practices and adhering to BRCGS standards and company procedures.
Restocking the picking area in preparation for the packing team.
Assisting delivery drivers with loading their vans, ensuring orders are loaded accurately, safely and securely and in the correct delivery order.
Maintaining a clean, organised and safe working environment.
Working as part of a busy team to ensure customer orders are prepared and dispatched on time.

Physically fit and happy with a role involving manual handling.
Able to work independently as well as part of a team.
Organised and able to follow procedures.

Committed to maintaining high standards of quality and food safety.
Previous warehouse or fresh produce experience is not essential, as full training will be provided.
Essential Requirements
Full manual UK driving licence.
Counterbalance forklift licence – essential.
Ability to reliably commute to Edinburgh or relocate before starting.
