OverviewReliability Maintenance Technician – Leeds, RME. The Reliability Maintenance Engineering (RME) team at Amazon maintains a wide range of equipment and the associated working environments, upholding Health and Safety practices to keep machinery running and prevent downtime. RME Technicians help maximise equipment availability and contribute to a safe and efficient operational environment.

ResponsibilitiesProactive and preventative maintenance tasks on a wide range of site equipmentCarry out reactive repairs and fault diagnosis in a live distribution warehouseUse the latest tools to maximise equipment effectivenessUphold all health and safety policies and practicesSupport the development and progression of on-site apprenticesWork on continuous improvement projects and roll out best practices across a range of EU sitesA day in the lifeRME Technicians are based on-site to respond quickly to machinery issues. They carry out planned preventative maintenance, respond to breakdowns, investigate and implement solutions, and suggest long-term improvements. They work alongside senior colleagues and may liaise with contractors for external expertise. Shifts cover hours around the clock to support site operations.

About the teamOur Reliability Maintenance Engineering (RME) team keeps equipment performing at its best. It’s a technically minded group guided by experienced leaders, working to maintain, troubleshoot and repair equipment across Amazon\'s global fulfilment network. The team handles aspects from installing automated systems to general site maintenance and repair of key distribution equipment, ensuring legal compliance, safety, and optimal efficiency. There are opportunities for progression within the RME team and across Amazon.

Everything we do focuses on reducing downtime to ensure customer orders are delivered on time. The team sometimes works early or late hours to minimise disruption, and there is room to develop new processes or adopt advanced technologies like Amazon Robotics and the Complex Item Sorter.

QualificationsBasic QualificationsServed a full Engineering indentured apprenticeship and/or qualified to a minimum NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in a relevant Engineering subjectRelevant experience as a qualified engineerRelevant experience working in mechanical and/or electrical maintenanceAdvanced proficiency in the local language verbally and in writingPreferred QualificationsApprentice Trained, HNC, HND, BSc, BEngExperience in condition-based monitoringExperience working with print and apply machinesExperience in fault-finding and maintaining conveyor or automation systemsAmazon is an equal opportunities employer.
