The Opportunity
We have an excellent opportunity for an experienced Site Manager / Senior Site Manager to join our Scotland team, delivering a diverse portfolio of non-rail civil engineering projects across multiple sectors including power, energy, infrastructure and structures.
You will play a key role in the delivery of a growing pipeline of work across a varied client base, taking ownership of site operations and ensuring safe, efficient and high-quality project delivery.
Current and upcoming schemes include:
Substation civils and energy infrastructure worksBridge and footbridge construction / replacementPipeline refurbishment projectsEarthworks, roads and general civils packages
Business Unit
You will be part of a busy, multi-disciplinary civil engineering team delivering works across:
Power & energy infrastructureStructural works and bridgesHighways and general civilsUtilities and pipeline projects
The team operates across a strong portfolio of frameworks and standalone projects for clients including SPEN, SSE, DRAX, Network Rail and Local Authorities.
The Role
As Site Manager / Senior Site Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management and delivery of site-based works, ensuring projects are completed safely, on programme and to specification.
Key responsibilities include:
Full responsibility for site set-up, operations and daily managementSupervising workforce, subcontractors and site teamsEnsuring compliance with all Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality standardsManaging site records, reporting and progress trackingOrdering materials, plant and equipmentDelivering site briefings, toolbox talks and inductionsCoordinating with engineering, commercial and project teamsManaging programme performance and driving progress on siteMaintaining strong communication with stakeholders and clientsSupporting change management and maintaining accurate site documentation
About You
You will be an experienced civil engineering professional with a strong background in non-rail infrastructure projects, ideally within power, energy or general civils environments.
Essential:
Experience as a Site Manager or Senior Site Manager within civil engineeringStrong background in general civils, structures or infrastructure projectsProven ability to manage site operations and deliver projects successfullyStrong leadership and communication skillsGood understanding of health & safety and quality standards
Qualifications:
SMSTSCSCSHNC / HND / Degree in Civil Engineering (or equivalent)
Desirable:
Temporary Works Coordinator (TWC)IOSHLifting/Appointed PersonExperience working on power or energy frameworks (e.g. SPEN, SSE, DRAX)Broader infrastructure or rail exposure beneficial
